What is BPR?

BPR is a logical methodology for assessing process weaknesses, identifying capability gaps, and implementing innovation and optimization opportunities to achieve breakthrough improvements in operational performance. BPR efforts take a holistic view of the current and future states and considers the people, process, policy, information, and technology impacts to fix problems and achieve goals.

BPR Foundations Course

This introductory online, self-paced course (~8 hours) teaches the U.S. Army's established methodology for BPR. The approach uses a holistic view to rethink and redesign business processes to achieve new and elevated mission outcomes.  Attendees will participate in interactive learning and gain experience using tools and techniques needed to become BPR practitioners. The BPR Foundations Course is a pre-requisite for the BPR Intermediate Course.

BPR Advanced Certification

BPR “Course” provides students with an opportunity to work on a capstone BPR effort with the mentorship from a BPR Center of Excellence (CoE) member. Students will receive one-on-one training with a mentor and will work through the BPR effort with check-ins to ensure that they are meeting all the significant actions of the U.S Army Standard BPR Approach. The course length is dependent upon the timeline and scope of the effort. Completion of the BPR effort will result in a BPR Professional Certification. Contractors are able to participate in the BPR Advanced Certification with a memo from the contracting officer's representative (COR) stating that the BPR is in accordance with (IAW) the performance work station (PWS).

BPR Intermediate Course

Five-Day Virtual Instructor Led
This challenging course builds upon students' foundational knowledge to transform them into professionals capable of leading BPR efforts. Whereas the Foundations Course provides an overview and awareness of BPR, this course comprises hands-on, skill building. Attendees will successfully complete a notional BPR effort, utilizing the U.S. Army Standard BPR Approach.

The BPR Intermediate course will be offered as a Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) until further notice. Students will receive live instruction in a virtual classroom setting on Microsoft Teams. When students submit their registration, they will automatically be place on a prioritization waitlist due to high demand. The BPR Intermediate Course is a pre-requisite for the BPR Advanced Certification.
